Erikka Hammer
Hello, my name is Erikka Hammer. I currently have my bachelor’s in educational studies and I am working on my master’s in instructional design.
At this moment, I currently work as a preschool teacher. When it comes to instructional design, I have experience in creating curriculum for my classroom and other classrooms as well. Prior to pursuing my master’s degree, I did not have any formal training in instructional design. However, the act of developing curricula required me to implement many instructional design principles, even if the name of those principles were unknown to me at the time. Following my pursuit of this master’s degree, I have a renewed appreciation and understanding for the purpose of instructional design, and have the practical, hands-on experience that has enabled me to see instructional design strategies at work, in reality.
Some of my skills, which have been developed over the years, include:
Being able to solve complex or emerging problems in a timely manner with unique solutions,
Effectively communicating with many different types of people, to include educators, administrators, State auditors, and students, and
Maintaining a calm demeanor under emerging and stressful scenarios
My future career goal includes working as an instructional designer within the educational field. I would like to work together with different schools to come up with curricula and trainings that work best for their educators and students.
